Ilya Setrakian hails from New York City where he grew up in a family of artists. Studying piano from a very young age, he later on continued to hone his musical skills as a vocalist at the famed (Fiorello H. LaGuardia) High School of Performing Arts. Soon after, he moved to the Philadelphia area to study at University of the Arts. Ilya continues to live and pursue his passion in Philadelphia, collaborating with Philly’s best artists and enjoying the opportunity to play his original music at great venues in the city. New York City audiences have heard his original music at the Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, The Delancey, and more.

Recently, Ilya’s songwriting has begun to attract critical acclaim. His recently released EP, “I Never Knew” inspired Indie Spoonful to call Ilya “an artist to watch” adding “His undeniable charisma and talent is prime for mass appeal.” Vainculture reviewer, James G. called Ilya “Philly’s latest rising talent.” He further writes, “Ilya shows listeners that he has an incomparable natural talent that some can only dream of.” Ilya also works as an accompanist, songwriter, and producer.
